Question:
Answers:
I WOULD SAY 5.00 A DAY, 35.00 A WEEK AND AROUND 150.00 MONTH
$37.50 per week
100 per week
$37.50/week is way too low.
probably around $65 - $85/week
also where you live has a LOT to do with it.
For my husband and I, we go shopping once a year to stock up (we both hate shopping), and its about $400. at Save -A- Lot and Aldies Food Centers. They are bargain basement food that is as good as the name brands.
Depends on the person...
Depends on the lifestyle...
Depends on the appetite...
Depends on the income...
Many factors affect how much it costs to feed a single person. In my last Home EC class, we calculated that it would cost $100 per week for a single person to eat. That was several years ago. Factoring in inflation (especially lately with the gas prices added in), the fact that it was a small town, I would say that it would be about $165 per week.
Now, take that into consideration when you see the feed the need coupons at the check out. The average amount that a single person gets per MONTH in food stamps is $154. Then think about the health of the poor. Stringy hair, bad teeth, skin issues, diseases, etc they all affect the poor. Everyone knows that a well balanced diet keeps you healthy. If people want a real issue to complain about when it comes to the poor, it should be that the government is more interested in fixing problems than preventing them.
Oops sorry I got on my soapbox there didn't I?
I think it depends on where you shop for your food and what you buy. If you buy all frozen foods then it could get costly but if you buy things you actually have to make then it's not as costly.
at least $75-$100
