Extreme flea removal?

Question:I have a serious flea problem in a tenant of mines apartment, the orkin man wants 200 dollars with no garuntees on success. They have have spread to another apartment, and I am about to lose two tennants. what product, or company will get rid of them. I can't afford the two hundred, but if that is the best solution I will have to manage it. are there better companies than others?

Answers:
Bug bomb, get at a store like Home Depot. Set off a couple more than what the box says and make sure the pilot lights are off. Then, Bomb again in 3-4 weeks. Raid also makes a flea spray in a purple can you can buy at the supermarket so it has to be everywhere. It's about $7 a can, but it's worth it.

One of your tenants let this situation get out of control. They won't just be in the units now, they are in the walkways and other common areas. The can of purple raid stuff will work well in those areas. Fleas breed in cracks and crevices, so get the sidewalks, carpeting, baseboards, do the whole thing.

they sell flea bombs at pet stores.just make sure alll your power is off before using them...also use flea powder...and vacumm vacumm vacumm!!
20 Mule Team Borax sprinkled all over the floors and left for a few days. Vacuum.
I would spray the entire exterior with Home Defense, I think its by Ortho. I can't remember if it is for flea removable, but I'm sure they have one for fleas.

Then, I would cover the furniture and bomb the apartment with something from an extermination shop (not Home Depot, Walmart, ect.)

If there is carpet, i would, along w/ the bombing the apt, sprinkle a flea rid on the carpet and vacuum it up after a couple hours. I would also mop whatever isn't carpet with baking soda and water, twice.

If the furniture is infested, i would take it outside first, before anything else (better on concrete, somewhere not near grass or house entry), take off all the pillows, ect., turn it upside down, spray the bottom with flea rid and let it sit in the sun for a day or two, while spraying once again after the bottom dries once.

This should only cost like $40. Good luck
I would still allow pets, but I would demand that my tenants have their animals on flea control, if it is an animal with the fleas?
As an animal person, I have tried many, things. This one works the best. Find a large amount of boric acid, sold in pet stores and home depot. find the powdery kind. The small granduals are not as effective.

Wear a mask. Remove everyone from the house. Vacuum all carpet, sweep and mop all hard surfaces. Remove vacuum bag and toss in outside garbage.

Open windows, remove all people and animals from the house. WEAR YOUR MASK.

Sprinkle boric acid liberally over entire carpeted area up to base boards and behind furniture. Brush boric acid powder deep into carpet with broom.

Leave house for 3-4 hours. Vacuum deeply upon return, removing all trace of powder. Do not steam clean carpets for at least 6 months.

It is 100% effective.
One person said Borax, I agree. I have also used plain old table salt...same thing, leave it on a few days and then vacuum up. Both cost about the same. The salt is not "soapy" if there are kids around. Both dehydrate the fleas and eggs... Whatever you do, do NOT use a carpet cleaner on it! It will re-hydrate the eggs and you'll have THOUSANDS of fleas.
