- thank you

Answers:
how much for the pool?
the extra water ?
the fence?
the extra insurance?
or the stress you will have turning away the neighbors?
So I guess I sound a little irritated
but but at this point I wish we didn't have one. lol
but it really sucks to come home from vacation
and find dirty towels, you furniture strewn about
and 5 notes from neighbors asking if they can "rent" your pool for the week-end of the prom or for the 4th of July. You have no idea how brazen people are. They even "send " their children over to ask if the kids and their 5 cousins can swim and if we will be out there to watch them. But if you are ready for the neighborhood.. you are looking at 17,000
and that's with no shower or lifeguard.
but we do have a very nice pool.
with a sign on the gate.
Don't ask to use our pool
or we will sic our ugly dog on you. lol
it doesnt stop them but at least they look for the dog before they jump over the fence.
lol have fun :)

I'm in the middle of getting bids myself, so maybe I can give you a heads up:

1. Since you want a "diving" pool and not a "play" pool (which only goes up to 6ft), it's gonna cost more PER FOOT of depth over 6ft.
2. The decking costs BIG BUCKS. It's not uncommon for decking around the pool to be about $10k. Decking is the concrete that goes around your pool and usually connects to your patio. You can get regular concrete, aggregate, stamped concrete, stained concrete, or flagstone.
3. Another cost is the coping. If you want regular or stone.
4. The cleaners are about $600 a piece.
5. If you have a spa, it's another $10k+. And it might require its own pump.
6. Get volleyball cups put in now. They're cheap and you only need 2, one on each side.
7. The stuff inside the pool can range too - regular plaster, colored plaster, peppletec (which lasts longer)
8. The system = chlorine, saltwater (which many companies are getting away from), ozone (which works with the chlorine). If you do just regular chlorine, you need to put chemicals and shock in regularly to keep the ph levels balanced. Costs more than saltwater. The ozoninator helps prevent balancing the chemicals as often.
9. I've been told, that a "square" pool actually costs more than an organic shape.
10. Fountains, extra steps, tanning shelf, beach entryway, waterfalls, etc. all cost extra and some water features require extra pump.

I'd call around your local pool companies and ask for an estimate. Don't be pressured into signing ANYTHING until you've talked to several. Some of those pool salesmen are pushy. Best of luck!
