How can I get rid of ants in the compost bin?
Question:The bin is just about full. It is a metal one
Answers:
You don't actually want to get rid of them! They help to aerate the contents with their tunnels and therefore actually assist and speed up the composting process. If you have lots a and lots of them then adding water to the bin will help, as will turning the mixture over regularly.

Ant powder or hot water.
You know you cant do anything without a court order these days!
Seriously, boiling water does the trick every time
why do you need to do that?
you cant get rid of ants...maybe if it is in the house you should put it outside. But after a while it will all turn to dirt...you can put it in your garden.
put kettle water down it and just basically soak the bin in hot water.
