I am thinking of getting a hot tub and I have some questions:?

Question:I would like to get a small hot tub for myself. I see some of them are as simple as plugging into a 110 electrical connection. Will a 110 powered hot tub use more electriciy than a 220 connected tub??

Also, based on those connections, how much would I expect to pay each month to heat the thing?

lastly, is it wise to find one used?

thanks in advance

Answers:
The main savings to the 110V tubs is that you don't have to pay (or pay as much) for special wiring.

The downside is that the jets and heater aren't as powerful. I suspect you will be disappointed in the 110V in the long run.

I don't think the power bill is that much compared to the tub itself (and chemicals, etc.) but frankly I've never measured the AC consumption of ours nor worried about it much.

Mine is 500 gallons and my guess is its about 30 dollars a month that is on 220. 110 volts will cost more to run because it will use more current and take longer to heat up

I wouldn't get one used. Way too many things can go wrong
