How do you get rid of house flies--they are huge flies and they seem to multiply within hours of swattin them?

Question:we have the fly traps and that funnel thing and they are still not going away...HELP!

Answers:
Sticky fly paper rolls have always worked for me. The big houseflies are attracted to the smell of rotting meat, so I've also taken a bit of old hamburger (or whatever's yukky in the meat drawer), and put it in the bottom of an empty ketchup bottle where the flies congregate (usually on a sunny windowsill).
The flies land on the lip of the ketchup bottle, crawl in to get at the rotting meat and can't fly back out.

Best thing to to is get an insect bomb and bomb your house or get it professionally fumigated. Lasts ages and you can leave doors and windows open withour having to worry how many flies get in or how your gonna get them back out, also helps with other insects, spiders, mosquitos ect
Make sure everything is clean... use one of those orange oil cleaners or pine cleaners, since flies hate the smell and will avoid the area where you've used them. And then wipe your counters with lemon, orange or pine oil.
You can even leave citrus peels laying around, or simmer a small amount of water with peels added.

~Spiders are a flie's worst enemy, since they eat flies. Don't kill the spiders until the flies have gone away.
~Dust the bottoms of all your trash cans with borax. The ones in the house, and the ones outside outside
~You can place potted basil plants in infested areas, because they hate the smell.
~Put some whole or ground cloves in the foot of an old nylon stocking and hang it in the area where the flies are worst.

Did you know that you can make your own homemade Fly Paper ? They're simple to make, work better and are way cheaper than the ready-made ones.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1. Cut 4 or 5 long strips about 2 inches wide from brown paper bags. Mix the ingredients in a bowl and spread it on the strips with a knife. Hang or lay the strips over a bowl (margarine container) to catch drips.

I hope something here helps...
