I would have thought your local town hall, housing people would be able to help you on this. Its a lovley idea
I don't think the post office get a say in it although I think you would be responsible for informing them. Try your local council, I'm sure it's up to them
that would be the council office as they have all documents to do with things like that.xxx
I would have thought the city, yet my employers just finished the same process (because we sublease a portion of our facility). They went through the U.S. Postal Service (post office).
Your local council would determine this. Contact them.
is your house zoned for this work? ask the city council. you might want to check BEFORE doing the addition, in case your house isn't zoned for it. you might have to file paperwork and pay a fee, but i wouldn't think it's through the post office.
that would be a question to ask your local council in Australia but in USA not sure.
i would've thought that when you applied for the extension it would have be known it was to be used as an extra living space i would just use it as if you wanted to give your house a name you don't have to ask anyone do you? after all its just a letter after a number and Ive seen so many houses turned into flats with the same idea, don't worry about it too much tho
The post office are the people to approve.
However this is only from a "postal" point of view. The property will still be the one freehold from a rate/insurance etc point of view. You'd need to approach the council and all freehold interested parties ( mortgage etc ) if you wanted to split it completly. It would require planning permission.
ask the company who prepared the plans for the extension and had them passed by the council as they would probably be able to give a name and a department to speed up the process
Its down to you local council.if you live in the UK you should contact building control as they are the department that inspects houses before they are complete and are responsible for the numbering of properties. They may be able to give you the number a beisde your property provided no one already has it.
