Help!! I have a huge ant problem?
Question:Please serious answers only!
I live on a huge ant hill, ants everywhere inside and outside. My neighbors have problems, too. I need help no matter how clean my house is or how much I spray(I use Orthos Home defense), the ants still come in. I sprayed outside thoroughly and inside and still no luck. I have ants in my bedroom closet, my bathroom, the kitchen, the laundry room, the living room, my daughter's bedroom and so on. I am so frustrated I could scream!! Any suggestions would be helpful. I don't have any problems in the winter just spring, summer and fall.
I have a daughter, 3 full grown cats and a kitten so I don't want to use anything that could harm them. Oh, and I have allergies(more nasal than anything) to some chemicals, so I have to be careful. Please only valid answers!! Thanks so much for your help!!

Here is a simple solution. Put some talcum powder around where they come into your house. They will get it on them and take it back to the nest. It suffocates them. Outside you can put some lime around the perimeter of your house next to the house and that should keep them away outside. I got rid of mine in one day and you will too. Keep the faith, powder will do it.
Boric Acid, it is in powder form. Ants carry it home and share to call the others. I also use this granule stuff around the outside of the house around the foundation.
There are spikes you can put outside in the ground. You can also use the poison traps, the poison is inside the plastic so the cats won't get into it, I would keep it out of the reach of your daughter.
You will have to wait a bit for them to work, and you will have to let the ants eat from the traps for a few days...it's awful to have to let them live, but they will take the poison back to their nests and kill off all the ants and the larvea.
I think the only solution is to contact the pest control...Problem u are facing right now could be pretty serious.. So do get the pest control and i believe they are the only one that can help you now..Best of luck...
I sprinkle Borax around the inside of my garage to keep critters out. It seems to work pretty well.

It sounds wierd, but formula 409 (the cleaning spray) kills ants and they won't cross a line of it. Just spray the crap out of your doors, windows, etc. It really works and it's cheap! Just get the regular 409.

They have a lot of products available. They are not cheap, but if you have a big problem you probably don't mind.
If all your neighbors have problems too, you should all get together and do something. If you kill all your ants and the neighbors don't, they will come back.
HUGE ANTS!?!?!?!?!?!? There's a 'B' rated horror story here somewhere.
