Any ideas please?
Question:My daughters bedroom is really small and most of the room she does have is taken up by the bed. She has one of those shorty tent beds so we can shove all her toys underneath, but she is still only left with 1m x 60cm to play in and she is asking for a bigger room. If I could turn her bed against the other wall she would have more room but the bed will not fit, I would need a bed with a length of 170cm. Does anyone know where you can get a small bed like this or have any other ideas of what i can do? And before you say move house, it is for sale but noone wants it coz the bedroom is too small.
Answers:
Try ikea, they have varied sizes of childrens beds
well, Ikea sell cheap beds of different sizes so you could try there and to give the illusion of the room being bigger than it is to help you sell your house try painting the room in a lighter colour and hang some mirrors to reflect the light.
What about making a drop down like attached to the wall and when you need it just unhook it and drop it down or then again a sofa bed.
I have the same problem. I wish I had the money to buy a MURPHY bed! That would be the perfect solution. It's amazing the room you could configure if you could have one of these. I'm sure if you look online you will find very contemporary modern ones suitable for children too. This way they can just be folded up and tucked away and you have a whole open room to play with, and turn it into a living area by day.
Here is just one site so you get an idea of what I'm talking about. But you can see the possibilities!

The loft beds below are cool too...IKEA has those not badly priced at all. Make sure they are good sturdy ones as most are only meant to hold a certain WEIGHT plus some are so high you are sleeping right under the ceiling. So measure carefully if you opt for those.
.
Free up all the floor space by putting in a loft. It's especially convenient to put a desk underneath.
I understand your problem well. Lets see if this could help you.
Have you considered the option of having somebody make up for your daughter some kind of a higher bed? I mean, something like only the top of a double bunk.
In this way all of the lower room will be left free for other thinks, toy boxes, etc., and most importantly, after making the bed gone away so to speak, all of the lower area will be left free for your daughter to play. She may also find it a lot of fun sleeping up higher.
So it will be like suddenly having double the space you had before and a much much happier daughter.
Cheers.
