Help with roses?
Question:I have a 16 year old rose bush that I transplanted to a different spot in my yard. It's been 4 weeks and it has continuously been going downhill. The leaves turned brown and the stems are doing the same mostly. Was careful not to shock the roots when digging and added water and miracle gro to the hole before inserting it. I live in Eastern Ky.
Answers:
Sea-sol is what you use to slow any shock a plant might experience. Another thing is the new place you re-planted may be a different soil 'mix' and not conducive to the old rose. Did you prune back the rose bush before you tried to transplant it? If not, do so now in an effort to help the bush regain some of its strength and reduce its output on the 'whole bush'. You should only attempt a transplant when the plant is in the dormant stage and has been fully pruned to avoid the chance of shock and total loss. I hope you can save your rose bush. Good luck!
just keep watering it its in schook.but it will come back in time test some of thr branches cut a small one off ans look to see if its still green in side that means the plant is still a live...try trimmimg it back a little sometimes that helps
I should come back next year. Maybe it was the wrong time to plant it. I have did this before myself. If it doesn't come back next year then I would say it's dead. Just keep watering and fertilizing it until then.
