Any ideas on a good place to live?
Question:I currently live in Louisiana, and I am looking to relocate, because I absolutely hate it here. Too hot and humid, plus alot of personal crap I would like to leave behind. I sell insurance, so I cant live in a small town, I wont make enough sales. I want a real winter.snow and stuff. But not heavy snow-ins to where I cant get out of my house for days at a time. Mild summers, where the kids can enjoy outdoors even around noon. Something family friendly. Maybe somewhere in TX? Just looking for ideas. Anything will help.

My husband and I are moving to Slat Lake city... I was really worried at first because I thought the obvious things
- Mormons everywhere...
- No drinking, no good bars, no nightlife
- Too much snow!!
But, we have visited a few times to look at housing and meet with the company and I have to say... I LOVE IT! I never thought I would... They do an amazing job of keeping the roads clear in the winter.. we went during a snowstorm and I had no trouble in our small rental car, and it didnt have chains or anything, the roads were completely clear. The people are awesome... there arent that many mormons here actually, and nobody has bothered us or anything... And you CAN drink...
Also.. the housing is really affordable and its a big city, so you could make decent money. I have found the family community to be great.. we took our kids to the Hogle zoo and we met a bunch of families.. everyone was really friendly. It was about 90 degrees when we went in August. Not very humid though, kinda dry for me (I am used to high humidity). Theres lots of stuff to do for families too. As much as I hate to admit it, I am excited about moving there in July :) We bought our house for 115,000 and its a 5 bedroom 3 bath, built in 2005, in great condition, and it has .25 acres. We have a 30 minute commute into SLC but its worth it!!
Good luck...
we're moving from Bellingham, Washington.. which was listed as one of the top places in the country to live, but.. it costs around 350,000 to buy a house... so, expencive.
Move to the city. San Diego.New York. But, the one place you would hate more than Louisiana is Eureka ,California so dont move there.
Seattle even if a little wet in winter has beautiful, mild summers.
Georgia?
I moved to san antonio texas and it is way too hot during the summer and cold for about two weeks all winter. Wouldn't recommend it if you want to have a breezy summer I would say california. Research coastal areas in california, huntington beach etc. Temp is usually in the 70s even in summer.
