Why people build houses with its backside facing the street? Do they sell quickly?
Question:I am looking at a vaction home which is about 20 years old and it is a nice chalet style house but it has a reversed configuration - it's backside (plain with 2 windows) are on the street and the frontside is on its backyard. The owners says they built it to have a view of the woods but it looks odd. My concern is will it sell easily?
Answers:
The garden is usually in the back... not close to the street, for privacy purposes. Also it's nice to see the woods from your living room instead of viewing the cars passing the street.
They do it for privacy, but I"m not sure how well they would sell.
It may look odd to you, but when your in the house and you see the view out the back, you views may change.
You can always add shutters or something to make it look more attractive.
I am sure it will sell if it has a nice view.
