How long do you keep a pillow?

Question:I have a bunch of pillows on my bed and I'm wondering how long I should keep them. I sleep on them every night and I've had some for years and some for less. Any one know when I should trash 'em?

Answers:
Pillows are washable and you can fluff them back up. I wash mine once a month. Even if you don't wash them they will loose their fluff from being smashed by the weight of your head. I would say throw them away when they are no longer comfortable.

WELL IF U HAVE FLEAS GET RID OF THEM
When they go flat! If they're not puffy any more than get rid of them.
I Love pillows. Years.
I keep two sets on my bed, one set I do not use to sleep on, the other set I renew every single year..it is worth it.
i change mine out every 6 months i think after a year 10% of the weight is dust mite poop
i change pillows every 6 months.only because it turns yellow.and it goes flat.and it is also recommended to change pillows every 6 months any way.
You should really only keep your pillows for up to 2 years, after that half of its weight will be dust mites and dead skin... and I bet it will be kinda hard and lumpy.
I THINK YOU SHOULD TRASH EM WHEN THERES A IMPRINT OF YOUR HEAD SWEAT ON YOUR PILLOW. OR IT TURNS BROWN. EWWWW.
I keep mine for a couple of years and then I donate them to animal shelters or animal hospitals. I have also given the old pillows to homeless shelters.
