Does it matter WHAT SIZE POT to plant a sunflower in??

Question:I have been doing a tremendous amount of gardening .. now that I've run outta space, have decided to plant some seeds in various unused pots lying around. but some pots are semi small [but not tiny]
will there be enough room for root growth for a sunflower full grown, in a smallish med. pot?

Answers:
Sunflowers have a big root growth. So you will need a tub,not a pot.I do believe you now can get a Hybrid variety which is smaller. So put some smaller flowers in your small pots. How about the Pyrethrum Daisy? Keeps all the mozzies away. Good Luck!

That truly depends on the variety of sun flower you have planted. Sun Flowers tend to establish a large root ball if it is a colossal one, there are smaller variety's the smaller the flower the smaller the root ball .Use a heavy enough pot remember plants grow and get top heavy, have a sturddy base for your plants. steak them and feed them. Wind will blow your plants over if in the wrong size pot. We tend to use 12 to 24 inch pots.
