How does an expandable dining table work?

Question:am trying to explain to a carpenter what I want built - and it's a 4 seater dining table that should expand into a 6 seater. I would prefer a non-leaf table but not sure how the mechanism works. Does anyone know how this stuff is put togther?

Answers:
the first two address link you to a site where the video shows you how the table expands.

the second one is just text info on how to build one.

Here is another option, link below, that is a bit more traditional in appearance. The extender leaves store underneath either end. They pull out and then rotate up with a parallelogram connection (to maintain parallel orientation of the table surfaces). They then slide back in with a catch to prevent them from lifting up and therefore disengaging.

I don't have a diagram, but it's a surprisingly simple solution. A visit to a Stickley dealer would be helpful to see it in person.
