At what temperature do you turn on your air conditioner for the summer?
Question:
Answers:
We rarly turn it on for the summer. It always depends on how warm each day is.
It need to get above 80 for a couple of day in row before the AC is on.
Actually its the night time temperture that usually is more important to us. If it is cool (below about 72) outside at night, we have the windows op and the whol house fan on. If we can cool the house enough overnight, we can often forgo AC for most, if not all, of the following day.
Of course when the the three H's hit (hazy hot and humid). The AC is on day and night.
I think ours is at about 72. I tend to melt
(upstairs) on really hot days and open my window if it is cooler outside than inside. At work, I'm pretty sure they keep it at 35, unfortunately.
Seldom. It is adviseable to save money and energy to cool a home using wind, by opening windows during the evening hours.
