Why isn't the grass purple?
Question:i mean, come on. purple's a cool color, right?
Answers:
It's because the chlorophyl wants to keep all the purple light to itself.
Chlorophyl is what plants use to convert sunlight into food. It absorbs very efficiently in the red and blue ends of the visible spectrum, but it is poor at absorbing green. The green light therefore is reflected, making the grass look green.
