If fire ants/ants are coming into your house from outside, do you have termites in the house?

Question:A lot of fire ants are coming into the house from open spaces in the windows. I sprayed some Ortho and they die around the window, but does that mean I could have termites in the house?

Answers:
Insects will enter the home through any means accessable to them, especially ants. They are looking for a food source. This does not mean that you have termites. It is possible you have them but nothing to do with the ants.

I don't believe that is necessarily the case. But instead of buying expensive ortho, a quick and 100% effective way of killing the fire ants is the dump a pot of boiling water over their mound and down the hole. It will kill any grass right there, but that will grow back and I think it's worth it!
The two things are totally unrelated. Ants could enter through holes created by termites, but they can find lots of other ways in too.
