Conserving water?

Question:Like most places we are under a drought. We aren't under any water restrictions but its coming soon. Can your plants be watered with used bath water. Does any of the soap etc hurt your plants? I have invested so much in my plants- I hate to let them die.

Answers:
yes you can . currently I use my wash water from my washer to water the flower beds around my home . . my husband hooked up a valve to the pipe so I can turn on the soaker hoses or let the washer drain into the septic system . .

I would call a garden center/nursery and ask that type of question.. I mean if you used bath water as long as it wasn't too soapy I would think it would be fine... I think it may even keep some pests off your plants as well
we put the bath water into a water butt then add 'Hozelock Water butt treatment'! 500ml treats upto 6400 litres of water. gets rid of soap scum, stops unpleasant smells and prevents green water. Hozelock also make water butt pumps so you can still use a hose during pipe ban!!

most garden centres should stock this I know we do!
Yes, you can. I've used wash water from the washing machine and the bath tub both. No problems except for hauling it is hard work.
