A conveyance solicitor?

Question:I am able to buy my council house. I did everything with the council then I need a solicitor. because I went to one solicitor he told me I must to pay him £1000. please someone can tell me estimate price to pay to a conveyance solicitor?

Answers:
I wouldn't use a solicitor, I would use a conveyencer. They generally deal with property conveyencing only, and don't have fancy prices just for having the word "solicitor" in their title. A normal no problem transaction I would guess might be £500-£600 Definitely get quotes/estimates from a property conveyencer.

Shop around and ask other solicitors what their fees are. dont just rely on one. solicitors are expensive no doubt but so are estate agents.
