I like fresh eggs, but can't figure out why do my chickens keep dieing?

Question:Am I planting them too deep or too close together?

Neither silly, you're planting them out of season. Everybody knows that to get a good crop you have to plant on a full moon. The heads have to go down so the backside is up and just below the surface. Buh-gaawwk.
