Do gophers only surface at night? I want to shoot them but I never see them.?

Question:

Answers:
Nope - they sleep at night. Try looking for them in late afternoon or early morning. They don't like the heat and stay close to their hole. Damn good ears also, if they know you are around they will bolt to the hole. For your viewing pleasure - http://www.youtube.com/results?search_qu... - and to piss off the PETA people.

We always shot them during the day. Must be a timing conflict. Be patient! ;-)=
isnt it against the law to transport or kill/damage a gopher?
In Ca I used to shoot them early in the morning just at sunrise. In ID I shot them in the evening just before sunset. Guess it would depend on where you live. The gopher men told me that if they are going to move they do it at night and sometimes as far as a half mile away.
