Is there a way to empty a pool without the use of a sump pump?
Question:I don't want to install a sump pump pit and I don't really want to use the old fashioned bucket method. Is there a way to empty the pool of its icky water? Is there a pump of some sort that is stand-alone, with one end going into the pool, through a vacuum, and then spitting out that water somewhere else?
Answers:
do the old siphon method get a garden hose put one end on the bottom of the pool and run the other to the location you want the icky water to go. best if it is lower than the pool. Then suck on hose till you get a siphon going
Good Luck
Is it above ground? Use a syphon to get as much as you can out. Might take some time though. If it is an in-ground pool then you are going to need power to get the water removed. A powered pump or muscle power and buckets.
your pool doesn't have a pump? How do you filter it?
You can buy cheap pumps, probably at places like harbor freight.
Usually the filter pump can be diverted to discharge outside the pool
well my dad usually takes a hose and puts it in the pool and sets the other end at the bottom of the hill so the water will come through it or somthing
Plastic dixie cups.
