Whats killing Alfred the Bonsai?

Question:Alfred the Bonsai tree looks very poorly, he used to be lush and green but now his leaves are falling off and some (on his edges) are turning yellow. His soil is getting really dry very quicky too.

I have noticed evil creamy orange tiny (almost microscopic) spiders crawling around on his soil, are they killing him? I have tried Baby Bio but bit worried bout using an insectaside in case that kills him off even quicker.

Alfred has always been so full of life, I 'd hate to lose my baby this way, what can i do? he's never allowed to sit in direct sunlight.

please help...

Answers:
spider mite

you will need to spray
but this is quite toxic and they are hard to control.

biological control is the best solution with the use of A predatory mite, but a bit of overkill for 1 bonsai.

good question!
FIRST, you must determine the species of tree. Hundreds of species of trees are made into the “bonsai” design. You may send a photo or description of the foliage to me at:
wchoat@american-bonsai.com and I'll send you care instructions for that particular species. You may also want to look at the Bonsai Care page of my website:

You can always use alcohol on a q-tip to go after each insect one by one.
