Where did EARWIGS come from? I never saw one until about 8 years ago- now they're everywhere!?

Question:I live in Wisconsin, grew up here, spent every waking moment as a child in the great outdoors.and never, ever, ever saw an earwig. In the past 8 years, I see tons of them all summer long, where did these come from and when?

Answers:
They usually live in mulch, or under old leaves and wood. If you are seeing them inside the house, chances are you have mulch up against your house and they are crawling in through tiny cracks in your houses foundation. Pull back the mulch away from the house and/or spray a pesticide around the perimeter of the house right up next to the foundation.

I live in MI and Ive always seen them. I HATE them.
good question!
Due to global warming insects are migrating to other climates that suit them better.
I always thawt that this common yard pest was everywhere / / /
If it is a recent addition to your 'local' population, it apparently traveled in, with some tourist . . .
