I'm a girl trying to do a man's job... help!?

Question:I cannot turn off the sprinklers in the front! I did 2 times before, but this 3rd set of sprinklers (all the water supplied by the SAME fountain) but it will not turn whatsoever. The other times it did, but now it suddenly won't.

I tried the latch- it worked- until I realized it shut off the WHOLE ENTIRE HOUSE'S water.

Please help! My dad is gone for a week.

Answers:
The water line connected to the sprinklers is hard-plumbed, there is no hose. It is activated (turned on) by a solenoid, which is an electrical valve device which, when electrified, opens or closes. In your case, my guess is that the solenoid is opened when it is charged--so if you kill the electricity to the sprinklers, the solenoid should close, shutting off the water. Check for a breaker on the electrical panel that says "Sprinklers" on it--it might also have a red button on it if it is a ground-fault type interruptor. This panel might be in the garage or the basement.

i dont know if this does any good but try disconnecting the water hose... if thats possible
