What sort of kettle do you have?
Question:just brought a new kettle and it made me wonder what sort you have

One that boils water!!
a dirty one.
An electric one
mine is fantastic its silver, metal and has glowing lights that change from blue to orange when boiled its mint it looks like e.t's space ship dude
Most all of my pots, pans and kettles are stainless steel. Including my tea kettle.
One that keeps the water hot. Bad naughty me, but I drink so many hot drinks, it would have a higher carbon footprint if I constantly had to reboil.

ive got a good one that is blue before it gets hot then when its hot it goes red
Mine is made of glass so you can see it boiling...
.problem is, water in the southeast is full of limescale so it looks crap pretty quickly :(

I have a baby blue electric kettle.
St.St. very large bottomed one (like a ships decanter) on the gas hob of my boat (!) and a stainless steel electric jug at home
Note for Mr. Digger - we have attached a "magic" device to the incoming water pipe (just inside the house) which seems to have stopped scaling up completely. If I can discover what it is called, I'll try to find you again.
Husband has just found it on the web - called a "Scalewatcher"
A kenwood jug.
My kettle is a Frigidaire with a concealed element. It is sooo noisy when it is boiling, enough to drown out the television.
All kettles with a concealed element seem to suffer from this problem.
Even my neighbours next door can hear it!.
I have 2 kettles. A standard sized electric kettle and a travel size electric kettle.
