Why is it that peones don't have any scent to them this year?

Question:Peones usually smell so pretty, but this year they don't have any scent at all. Could this have something to do with the cold snap that we had after it had been nice and warm?

Answers:
I'mj in NW OH, and mine smell great. We had 4 inches of snow when the peonys were up.

could be.. mine weren't affected that way. guess I'm lucky
It depends on what kind of peony they are some hybrids will have no scent. I have some like that and a bush right next to it has lots of scent .
