Can horse manure keep noisy neighbors of my lawn?

Question:There's a big tree that provides lots of shade on the sidewalk in front of my house(on the strip of lawn between the street and the sidewalk). Several people mostly from the apartments that are across the street love to park right under that tree. That's ok with me. What's not ok is that they love to hang around at all times of the day. I don't mean just 1 or 2, i'm talking several groups of about 3-5 at different times of the day. Now my bedroom window is only about 10 feet away, and they love to talk loud, and blast their car radio even louder, not to mention the trash they leave behind. I was thinking of dumping a bag of horse manure on the lawn around the tree hoping the odor will keep them from hanging around. Does anyone have any other ideas? Is there some kind of liquid that produces a really bad odor that i'd be able to spray on the front lawn near the curb? Thanks in advance.

There used to be a fertilizer available made from emulsified fish. If it is still around, it would work. Otherwise try blood-meal.

AAAH that problem sucks.
i like the horse manure idea. too bad you've got to stink the place up to get some peace and quiet because now you have to smell it too.
You could check with your City Planning Dept and try to get rid of the tree. Unless you like the shade. I got the City to remove a Liquid amber tree that was dropping those nasty little hard prickly balls all the time. Turned out that they had already decided to replace all the Liquid Amber Trees and replace them with ornamental trees. So they have now removed the tree. If the roots of the tree have deformed your sidewalk that would be another incentive for them to fix the sidewalk and remove the tree.
You should leave rotten eggs around the area, some stink bombs too (not really bombs, just plastic vials of smelly liquid).

Horse manure is good too but don't limit yourself in that department either. Gather turds from cats, dogs, yourself. Smear the poop all over the area, just make the area as nasty as you can.

When they're outside with the radio, talking loud and spreading trash...expose yourself to them at the window. Do this in the most unflattering manner as you can think.

Good luck with those darn kids & their rock n roll music!
How about some of that stinky stuff hunters use to attract bucks. Doe in Heat or something. They saturate something with it and tie it to a tree. You could hang it from some of the limbs of the tree where the peole are. That way it would bother them and not you. You'd just have to resaturate every so often. Good luck.
put up a no trespassing sign. And if the tree is on the right a way then call the police [ or someone in authority] & ask them what to do, and tell them what the people are doing [ talking loud & keeping you awake; and littering the property
If You spread any Manure, or anything else that produces a foul Odor, You'll probably be in violation of some sort of Environmental Ordinance. And, since it's close to the Sidewalk, it might actually be near enough to the City Property Line that You could get into Trouble. Also, if the Wind blows toward You, then You're going to get the rotten Smell ! What You might be able to do, and not get caught, would be to install some sort of ultrasonic Noise Generator on your Property that would send a Frequency that would subconciously irritate your unwelcome Visitors. They won't know where it's coming from, because it will sound sort of like a Mosquito buzzing in their Ears, even with their Music up Loud. After a few Minutes, it will become such an irritant, that They will start fighting and arguing with one another, and they won't even know why ! Then, They'll leave, if the Police don't evict them First ! A Dog Repellent Whistle works very well. And they'll never know where it's coming from, if it's well concealed. The cheap ones aren't even worth trying. Go to http://www.amazing1.com and check out the PPG100 Ultrasonic Painfield , the PPF40 Phasor Pain Field Generator, and the DOG20 Anti Dog Force Field and Garden Guard. That's what I used to humanely silence a Neighbor's Barking Dog. Then, I found out it had a delayed effect on People! One of these will really do the Job, and You won't have to be a "Real Stinker" ! Contact them, and explain your situation, and they'll come up with just what you need. If You know someone that's into Electronics, You can $ave by getting the Kit form of whichever Device You decide to use. Just be very suttle about it, and keep it concealed, or You may end up with Eggs all over your House, or worse !
If people are hanging around like that and causing a public disturbance you have a perfect right to call the police and complain, asking that they break this gathering up. Even if you don't want to give your name, you can just say that you live near and it is bothering you. This loitering may be very harmless in nature, but the police may consider it a possible risk for chances of theft, drug activity, fighthing, public alcohol, and of course the general public disturbance. Manure may very well work, but it might be a little more likely that they may think you did it (unless they think the city did it), than calling the police, as I assume you are not the only one being disturbed by this loitering. There probably is an ordinance regarding this, but a simple call to the police department is probably all that is needed. Anonymous calls are O.K.
