Why does my propane tank make a whining noise when I turn the burners up on my gas grill?

Question:It starts real soft but when I turn the burners to high it gets pretty loud. I dont know if thats normal.

Answers:
Need a little more info. If it is in the tank it could be the gas whistling through the #54 orifice that are now in the OPD tanks. It is a restrictor on the valve inside the tank so if there is a break in the line.Or it might be the gas itself. The liquid in the tank will boil like water when there is a high demand on the tank.It might also be the regulator sometimes they make a lot of noise. With such limited info. I would be leaning toward the regulator as the noise maker. The regulator is usually on the end of the line and screws into the tank so it might sound like the noise is coming from the tank.

My guess is that the lines and openings near the burner have to be cleaned. On high the gas is escaping with more pressure through a restricted orifice, like you letting the air out of a balloon. Clean good and tighten everything and see if that helps.
maybe theres a hole in it?
