MAIL Problems !!?
Question:Sometimes my mail gets sent to the wrong address - worse, they get opened by the person it gets sent to - and then they send it back to us - what is suspicious is that it usually happens to the private and confidential letters only. What can I do?
Answers:
It's not the Post Office that deal with mail delivery, they just accept it on Royal Mail's behalf.
Call Royal Mail Customer Services who will chase up the matter on your behalf. 08457 740740. You could also speak to someone at your local sorting office. It is a criminal offence to delay or open another persons mail so they will take you seriously. Your postperson obviously is being a tad sloppy, and your neighbours are just plain wrong...
go to your post office and ask to speak with a supervisor.
Get to know your mail carrier and know your neighbors.
Tell them to stop opening your mail or you will bust their taillights!
Ring the post office, each time it happens and make sure they hear you loud and clear
You have a questionable mail man. Most mail is pre-sorted to your address and is hard to mix-up. report your problem to the local post office. sometimes carriers go on sick leave or change routes and the route is vacant. That means the replacement carriers may not be familiar with your route and are making honest mistakes. If not your carriers may be unscrupulous. either way report it so the problem may be addressed by the manager.

I would go to the post office and see if anyone has put in a change of address form for my address. Do you know these people?? I would also check my credit report to make sure identity theft has not occurred. Sounds very strange, but you certainly need to stay on top of this one.
If its addressed corectly, tell the post office or improve your number/signage/bost box
if its addressed incorrectly, tell the sender.
I used to have the same problem, so I decided to get a P.O. Box because I figured it was more likely that if someone would get my mail by mistake, since the box was at the post office, the person that would get it would put it back to re-deliver it. After that I never had that problem again.
Good advice DKE. A po box is very secure. However, if that isn't convenient for you -- or even if you do -- it is best to report it to the post office. You can call 1-800-ASK-USPS and report it. This way it goes on a record and your post office has to reply to your complaint. If you believe it might be fraud you can report it to the Postal Inspectors (www.usps.com/postalinspectors... Mail theft is a felony and a federal offense.
