How to get rid of irritating paint fumes?

Question:My mom painted the computer room of my house several days ago and the smell is still lingering and it is horrible! any suggestions on how to rid of it

Answers:
obvious answer is to air out the room. Open all windows (even the ones not in that particular room), if you have any exhaust fans, like in an adjoining bathroom, turn them on and keep them on. If you have a window in that room, open it, and if you can, place a box fan or a pedestal fan pointing outwards, in front of that window. You are going for air circulation, so anything that will move the air around (and ideally replace the indoor air with outdoor air many times over) will help. Turn on ceiling fans also if you have them.

Burn candles in the room. It will burn the smell up out of the room. Works for when you perm or color your hair, cleaning fluids, seafood,.
Or if you have a gas stove nearby burn the burners on the stove for an hour or two.
Open windows and fans. If your going to paint again soon put a drop of vanilla per gallon in the paint.
get a white onion cut it in half...place it in a corner of the room over night.
another trick is to put 2 drop of vanilla in the paint and mix it up then paint

got these tips from a painter years ago and it really works
