Does anyone have any advice on putting a Jute rug outside?

Question:I am wanting to buy a Jute rug from Pier 1 Imports that looks durable enough to go outside under my gazebo. Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea? I am wanting to put it right on the ground on top of a tarp. Is there anyone out there with any experience with Jute rugs? Please don't post rude answers.

You can put it outside, but it will rot. There are many alternatives that don't.
