Do I need a new alarm system or just an update?

Question:If I have a home alarm system (probably 15-20 years old) wired into my house and is not activated, how hard would it be to reactivate it? I still have all the sensors attached to the windows and doors so I guess all the hardwiring is done. Would I need to update the wires along with a new keypad? Do you know how much it would cost to update it? Thanks

Answers:
The hardwiring is the most expensive part of the job. Call several alarm companies to come in and check contacts and keypad. You should be able to get an estimate at that point. Do your research before calling so you know what the monthly charges will be and are ready to make a commitment to service. The estimate may even be free, based on the prospect of future business.

Just update the micro processor
