Is there any way to fix dried-up pencil erasers?

Question:Know how sometimes you have perfectly good pencils, but the eraser is dried-up, hard, and completely unable to be used?
Is there any way to remedy this? Is there something you can soak the erasers in to make them, well, be able to erase?
I hate to throw away good pencils just because the eraser is not good.
***I know you can put those little eraser caps on top, so I don't want that answer, or the answer of "just buy a new certain kind of pencil." ***
Thanks.

Answers:
You can cut off the very tip of the dried up eraser and see if there is usable eraser underneath. I know that I have done that before and it was usable. Also, try rubbing the eraser on a piece of paper at least twenty times to rub off the dried up parts.

to be honest, the reason that they dont last is cuz they suck.
go to an art store, and get the white eraser with the cardboard holder.. or the putty ones..

i totally avoided your question tho..
its for your own good..

i dont care..
or ...do i?...

hmmmm..

san dimas HS football rocks!
wet it lol
shave the dried, old area off with a razor blade, exposing the innards which may still erase
