Does anyone know the receipe for the borax ant killer. You make little bait balls to kill carpenter ants.?

Question:I have been invaded with carpenter ants this spring - inside and out. I have pets so I dont want anything harmful to them. I have been told there is an ant bait ball you can make with borax, flour, sugar & bacon drippings - ants can't burp and they are killed = supposedly they will take the bait back to colony also. This sounds like it will attract more critters than just ants, but I am willing to try.

Answers:
Basically, use a 1:1 ratio of Borax to sugar, for example 1/2 cup borax mixed with 1/2 cup sugar.

"Some examples of baits would be mixing boric acid (15% by volume) in peanut butter and placing it in a jar lid. Equal parts of borax and granulated sugar, or a borax and corn syrup mixture. Be sure to frequently refill the mixture and keep it away from high temperatures, high humidity, and intense sunlight. Baits can be rendered ineffective under these conditions." You can collect the ants and fry and have it.
Try old fashioned fleapowder sprinkle where they are and watch them pack their bags
excuse me for saying this but aren't those ingredients just a little POISINOUS!!! i wouldn't mess with it.
