How can I cool my house off andget rid of the humidity?

Question:

Answers:
Usually an air conditioner will suffice but there are dehumidifiers that you can buy.

using a de humidifier will make your house feel cooler. Open windows top and bottom. Keep curtains or shades closed on the southwest side when the sun is blasting in. Don't use the oven other than first thing in the morning.
The most common type of air conditioner is termed a direct expansion (DX) unit. These also remove humidity when in is fairly warm or hot outside but not so much when it isn't very warm as in spring and fall. A dehumdier will remove humidity no matter the outsige goings on.
To dehumidify the house you can purchase a 'dehumidifier' and run some fans. OR buy an air conditioner (they dehumidify also) and stay cool this summer.
Central air is better than room a/c. You can also buy portable room a/c. They are a little more costly but do a fair job.
