Why do I generate more household trash then I bring in?
Question:Go figure... you bring home 2 bags of groceries etc.. but you take out 5 bags of trash... truly a mystery

In that bag of groceries, you may have a box of cereal. That equals one bag and one box. A pack of gum can generate tons of garbage, the piece you remove to open the pack, the paper around the pack, the outside wrapper on the gum, the foil around the gum and the gum itself. I think the least amount of trash comes from toilet paper. You bring home 12 rolls in plastic, but only put the plastic in the trash!

We have been wondering the same thing.
every thing you buy is overpackeged. too many shoplifters i suppose. smash everything before you put it in the garbage...
