Spiders are attracted to any place that has places to hide, and things to eat. Don't leave dirty clothing on the floor or stuff stashed under the bed, and run a vaccume behind headboards and dressers once a week to suck up new squatters. If you have a problem with flies (not implying you're nasty but once they start outside, they follow you inside no matter what you do), use a bug bomb to rid the house of them.

Spiders are good - they keep away the germ laden flies, so be kind to them.

They nest in places like the ventilator - but normally won't come near you. They will go on clean clothing for example - but not on clothing you have worn and never usually on to your bed. I did have one crawling down my hand the other day - but that is extremely unusual - must have dropped off the ceiling. As long as they stay away from me and kill flies - they are welcome!
Well there must have been a spider baby boom which will just lead to more. Killing them one at a time will get you nowhere! You need a full room pesticide and reaply in two weeks. It is said that average person eats 11 spiders in thier lifetime because the spiders are attracted to the carbon dioxide coming out of our mouth when we sleep! I am not a pesticide salesman but I sure won't have any spiders in my bedroom! Good Luck!

I've got this horrible phobia.I hate all creapy crawlies. I just go into a frenzy if they come anywhere near me.
I know it's wrong but if spiders, flies, moths and especially wasps come anywhere near me it's a just a case of "SPLAT".

Martley Electronics sell a number of pest deterrents which plug into a spare 13amp socket. This emits waves that humans and dogs/cats can't detect but Spiders can and they don't like it. Wherever the current goes, the Spiders will hastily retreat.

I have a spray the smells of cloves I got it from Kleeeze, spiders don't like the smell and it does work. The name on the spray is Wenko and is made in Germany, Wenko-Wenselaar Hilden, they will have a web site and maybe have distributors in the UK, worth a try. You should be able to get oil of cloves at your chemist and make you own.
