I have a 3 tomato plants and we are doing an experiment?

Question:plant 1 is outdoors in the soil
plant 2 is in a 5 gallon bucket on front porch
Plant 3 is in homemade hydroponics set up,5 gallon bucket with basket, special rocks for medium, and distilled water with vegetable nutrients and for air we are using a fish tank pump
which plant will grow better?

Answers:
it will all depend on the sunlight... water and whether or not they get blight or bugs.

we planted ours upside down this year... in a 'topsy turvy' kind of style. a hole in a bucket... roots went up into the bucket which was filled with soil.. and then the bucket was hung on the clothesline poles. and those are twice the size now than the ones that are in the garden because gravity isnt against the growth!

The one that has the most sun, and even watering.
The hydroponic should do better because of the nutrients,,,,and especially if its in the house getting more light at night from lights.
The one outside in the sunlight. Thats where 3 of ours are.
It is not so much where you have them but how you treat them.
I grow thirteen foot tall tomato plants in my garden. I water
them everyday and apply Miracle Grow three to four times a
week.So without you telling us how you plan to take care of
them it is impossible to take an educated guess on which
one will grow better.
