Can spiders survive being flushed down the toilet ?
Question:Just wondered if they drown or can hold their breathe !
Answers:
Once they get past the "S" bend the pipe is not full of water it is all drained out until you flush again. Yes they would survive they would just crawl along the pipe until they find an exit somewhere, or live happily down there in the pipes. Believe it or not goldfish have survived being flushed, and somewhere I heard that a snake had survived for quite some time living in the plumbing and came up out of some woman's toilet.
I don't know - I've never asked one. What you could do is wash it down the sink and then see if it's alive when it comes out of the drain - that's if you really really want to know the answer to your question.
Actually they can hold their breath for quiet a long time. Not sure just how long tho. Probably long enough to find a dry spot after being flushed tho.
Interesting question - I don't know, but I've washed one down the bathtub drain only to have it crawl back up
spiders also die drowning.but being very light they almost float on water unless suffisient force is applied
in case if they r not mechanically drowned, they will float or else die drowning.some lucky ones surf with their 8 legs in the flush and thus survive
Most of them take the turn where the bathtub drain enters the sewer line. Then they come up into the bathtub while you are sleeping. From there they climb out and make their way to your bed and get even with you :)
Solution: Smash the spider, then put in the toilet. Guaranteed to work. :)
