I have 2 indoor cats. What kind of sofa should I have so they aren't able to destroy it with their claws?

Unfortunately, Gracie is right, they don't make any such couches. Declawing is an option too, but you could also try the spray bottle method. Just fill a spray bottle with water( make sure the bottle has had nothing else in it and use just plain water) and when you catch the cat scratching on your furniture, give them a squirt. They won't like that and if you can be consistent they will soon learn not to scratch on the furniture. Also scratching is a natural instinct for cats. They don't do it just to destroy your furniture. If you are not going to get them declawed, provide them with a scratching post that can be purchased at pet stores or even walmart. If you work or go to school and are not home a lot you could try training them to a cage or close them in another room when you are away. My cats are family and I can't imagine living without them. We all have our peculiar habits. Most people just don't understand the cats habits, so they think they're strange. Maybe the cat thinks we're weird too. Good luck!
Sorry, they don't make any sofas that can withstand cats using it as a scratching post.
For this reason, I had both of my cats declawed. Some people think that is cruel, but as long as the cats live inside, they are fine.and so is my furniture!

I've heard of this spray that's supposed to keep cats off your furniture, but I've never used it.

I have an old stool that my cats prefer, and despite it's size and what it looks like, I'll never get rid of it.
Neither one will touch a scratching post!

You can yell at your cats and after a while they will take the hint.
Hopefully, they won't get catty and scratch even more just to spite you!
So try the spray and also get a big scratching post. Don't buy or make the post too small, I think my cats like the stool because it's almost 4 ft tall.
Put some catnip on the post and hope for the best.

NEVER..DE-CLAW...A..CAT!!!
Buy it something to claw on.
Then get some repellent and spray it on your sofa.
Go to the furniture store and look for a good leather couch. We had one demonstration where he took a knife and tried to puncture it and it wouldn't go through. Definitely more money, but it would be worth it!
We declawed just the front claws since that is what they use to scratch furniture and such. We don't have a leather couch yet, and our current couch has no marks on it, even from back claws.
You can also buy plastic caps to go on the claws, they come in clear or colored and you have to replace them every 4-6 weeks.
Cast iron not comfy to sit on but the cats will not use it either,
i have a cat and a leather sofa and chairs she has never clawed them i dont know if this is the norm but it works for me
