What can I use to kill snails for good?
Question:I have tried everything for over a year and I have a MAJOR snail problem inside my liani in all my beds. I pick about 100 a day and have done this for over 15 months. I haven't used any deadly poisons because I have 2 small dogs that enjoy sun bathing and roaming this area but now I am mad. I need something to put on the ground to kill the snails. I will keep my dogs out for a day or so if I need to.. Please give me suggestions. No more beer, coffee grounds, cut glass, metal,slug and snail bait, or hand picking. I have tried all.
I even call our county co-op and they can't help. They didn't have any addtional information for me. These things are eating all my flowers and garden items. I have gone to pots and earth boxes and they are still here.

Put salt on them and watch them disappear. Put down a line of salt around your plants.

HI, be cool Slugs and snails are part of the natural way of living we can't do without them. They eat the plants yes but they also eat other thing which would make us human ill. They help to remove tissue from our food plants that is tough, unappetising and difficult for us to eat. The have coloured shells which when collected after their death make a great mulch on house plants. If they are driving you mad put some sacrificial plant along the path and watch them eat those, they should leave your plant alone if you water these plant regularly. They are cheap and can be regularly replaced. Use Nasturtiums or any plant with a soft leaf as they are a treat for them. You can't win this battle so subvert it and enjoy the rest of your garden relatively hole free. Try going organic The gardener/ snail balance will soon come to equilibrium that is one of the purposes of it.
