Found an old box spring in the basement. Wondering if it has any antique value.?
Question:The box spring is just the bare metal coils and the wood frame that holds the coils in place. The wood appears to be white pine. The wires holding the tops of the coils in place are very elaborate.
There is also a small red tag attached through one of the support wires and the type printed on it is very antique looking. It reads:
.<*><*>Aronauer<*><*>
.Quality>*<A>*< Quality
.<*><*>Products<*><*>
<*><*><*><*><*><*><*>
..<*>Brooklyn, N.Y.<*>
Could not find anything online!

As with anything antique or not it's the buyers want and need that gives the worth of an Item. They are very functional as boxsprings even though they aren't covered with cloth like the ones made today. They make great drags to smooth out soil before seeding or to smooth out baseball infields. I'm sure there are many more uses for it.I would advertise them or call an antique store for more info.Either way you now own a set of old box springs. I bet your neighbor's don't have one!
Doubt if there is any value in this box spring unless someone really needs one for an antique bed. You could put it in a garage sale and sell it has garden art, it would be good to support sweet pea plants etc.
