My dimmer lights are not working with the new bulbs I got.?

Question:I have the lights in my bedroom set on a dimmer... they are indoor floodlights. I bought 4 new indoor floodlight bulbs all 65 watt and i am sure they all work... i now cannot dim the lights... do i need a special bulb to work with the dimmer?

Answers:
Dimmer bulbs are available with Wipro & Philips

A dimmer switch basically works by sending pulses of electricity to the light bulb instead of one constant stream. Florescent lighting needs a special type of dimmer switch since there is no filament to heat. Secondly all dimmers have a wattage rating which if exceeded can led to problems like the ones you are having. And yes they do make bulbs specifically designed for use in dimmer switches and most have a stronger filaments to handle the fluctuating electricity, and are usually marked on the box so where on the back. Good Luck.
are they florescent? florescents can not be dimmed unless they are on a special dimmer (which i have yet to find).
The light may not be hooked up properly.. but that doesnt seem like the problem. It might be your bulbs
