My pond is being over taken by cattails.. how do I get rid of them?

Question:

Answers:
I'm not sure how big your pond is, but if you pull the cattails yourself, be sure to get all the roots. Cattails have thick tuberous roots that will sprout new cattails each year if you don't get it all out.

Hello!! Pull them out.
Check and see if you have a Soil and Conservation League in your area,or some kind of State funded group. They are experts in pond management. In my area they recommended adding amurs to the pond to eat the vegetation. They also have an annual fish stocking sale with very cheap prices.
look around your phonebook or something for professionals to do this for you... i'm sure at least one of them can

OR

pull em out yourself or get those spinny thingies on tv that pulls weeds!
