Ihave a sheetland sheep dog every time i take him out he barks he never stops barking until i take him back in
Question:He dosen't like any one in the family but me
Answers:
Dogs bark for lots of different reasons. Sometimes it's boredom (Does he stay out long? Does he have toys in the yard? Is the back yard big enough, or does he get the long walks that he needs? They tend to be very active dogs); sometimes it's because it works - he gets to come back inside because it shuts him up; and some animal behaviouralists say he's doing it because the family yell at him to shut up, so he yells too, thinking that's just what 'the pack' does. (Don't know if that fits for you, of course.)
Have a talk with the vet for some ideas, or get some help from a dog trainer or dog school. As a last resort, there's a collar you can buy that sprays citronella in response to the dog's barking. It doesn't actually hurt them at all, but it's a strong smell for a dog so it tends to stop them. Works better in conjunction with training, of course.
