Where are the most snakes in the us?

I live and Texas, and see snakes pretty frequently. Yesterday at the lake, there were 3 occurences in which a grass snake was no more than 3 feet from me. There are a bunch especially in the hill country and west Texas where rattlesnakes become a problem. East texas has water moccasains. Everywhere in this state there are snakes. Any wooded area or grassy area (backyards, parks, lakes etc.) are prone to having them.

i would say there would be more out west in the dessert where it is warmer and dryer.
