What can I do if my homeowner association refuses to trim its tree overgrown to my back yard?

Question:The common area’s pine tree has seriously overgrown to my backyard. Not only it creats tones of pine needles everyday, but also one of the branches is so heavy that I fear it may crack and cause injury or damage to my family and proeprty anytime, yet my homeowner association wants me to take care of the problem myself. What can I do? I don’t have that kind of money

Answers:
The homeowner association does not have the responsibility to take care of it you do. I had the same problem. I was able to get a friend to help me cut it down. You neighbor does have the responsibility to help as well. If you can not get someone to help, maybe your neighbor will pay for 1/2. other than that, i do not know what else you could do.

the part thats in your yard you can just cut it you dont even have to make it look good if you dont want to.

most likely unless you have the whole tree done it wont look right, but I wouldnt pay to have it taken care of thats why you pay dues.
cut off the limb that is hanging over your yard.

OR get a copper nail... (a long one) and drive it into the main trunk of the tree. It should kill the tree by next year and they will have to cut it. (Has to be copper tho.)
