Which model of Dyson vacuum is best?

I'm a vac tech, and one of the few people that are able and allowed to do Dyson warranty work. Hands down the best Dyson is the DC17 Animal. Make sure you get the DC17 though. The Clutches on the DC07 and DC14 have been a big problem.

I have the yellow one and it is great. I think the purple one is for people with pets. They last a long time so you might want to get the top of the line - you might decide you want a pet in a few years and wish you had it! Great choice by the way!
The Dyson DC-17 is a great model. It is the most aggressive and comes with all of the different attachments. The Mini Turbine Head, The Low Reach Floor Tool and Carpet Clean Kit. Also the DC-17 (in my opinion) looks cooler than all of the others do to it's shiny and more futuristic appearance. As for were to buy the machine I recommend Mr. Vac and Mrs. Sew. They have have the lowest price on line for the DC17($489) as well as for the Slim DC18 ($397.99) and Stowaway Canister DC21 ($449). They are a great company to deal with and if you were to buy from them it would be free shipping with no tax if you live outside of New York.
